HomeMy WebLinkAbout20100517 - VI-07 To:Mayor Hicks and City Councilmembers From: Adeline Schroeder, Deputy City Clerk Re: Outdoor Music Request-Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce: Rivertown Days Date: May 11, 2010 Council Action Requested: Approve outdoor music after 10:00 pm for the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce for Rivertown Days, July 16 and 17, 2010. Background Information: The City Council recently adopted a policy to guide requests for playing music outdoors by establishments. Music that ends before 10 pm is permitted and requires no licensing by the City. Outdoor music after 10 pm needs to be licensed by the City. The Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce has indicated there are two dates the Chamber would like to play music outside. July 16 and 17 requests are for outdoor music until 11:00 pm. HPD Review: The Chamber of Commerce has held these events the last several years. According to the Police Department, there have been no formal complaints filed regarding outdoor music at this location the last few years. Staff is not aware of any complaints received.
