I am pleased to inform you that the City of Hastings has been awarded three of these grants in the following amounts: 1.$5,600 for bike racks to be purchased and placed along the Mississippi River section of our loop trail system. 2.$7,400 to place additional way finding signs/maps along various sections of the 29 miles of Hastings trail system. 3.$5,000 for a feasibility study and design plan of a proposed youth complex addition at Veterans Park. The funds from these awarded grants must be spent by June 30, 2010. Parks & Recreation Department staff will proceed with these projects with the use of this grant funding. Thank you! The Award Committee has made its final determinations for the Active Living Mini Grants based upon input from the Review Committee, and two applications from Hastings for bike racks and wayfinding signs have been selected to receive $5,600 and $7,400 in funding, respectively. Pat Stieg will work with the Contracts Division to get that process started. As you are aware, the funds must be spent by June 30, 2010.
