Water Service Repair Assessment Request – 714 4 Street W

Enclosed for Council approval is a request from Joe & Kim Pond of 714 4 Street W for
the City to pay the cost to repair their sewer service line and assess this cost back to their
property. With similar requests for utility service repair, the City Attorney has prepared
an agreement and waiver of assessment appeal for property owners to sign, spelling out
the conditions and terms of the assessment and protecting the City from an assessment
appeal.

The Council is requested to approve the Pond’s request for the City to fund the water
service repair and assess this cost back to their property under the condition that they first
enter into an assessment agreement with the City.

Subject: letter to request sewer repair to be assessed to taxes
To Whom It May Concern:
My Husband and I would like to request that the amount for the repair of our sewer be
assessed to our taxes. The amount of the work to date is $4,233.00. Unfortunately this
will not be the whole amount. The work was done in February, and due to the frost, the
street and curb need to be repaired as well.
