Home My WebLink About20100405 - VI-16 MEMO To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Nick Egger – City Engineer Date: March 29, 2010 Re: Authorizing the Solicitation of Quotes – Spot Utility Lining Work The Council is requested to authorize staff to solicit quotes for several spot utility replacement activities within throughout the City. th Lining of sanitary sewer mainline along 18 Street east of Ramsey Street – this segment has had a history of backups and required an inordinate amount of root removal. nd Street to Lining of sanitary sewer mainline and manhole lining on Tyler Street from 2 north – this segment of line was not replaced during the 2008 Downtown Street and Watermain nd Street. The line was replaced to a point about project to alleviate excavation in the middle of 2 90 feet north of the manhole at the intersection, but the remainder is also in need of improvement. th Trenchless repair of watermain on Pleasant Drive from 16 Street to Honeysuckle Lane – there have been several breaks in this stretch of watermain, and it is was not included in the scope of the 2010 Infrastructure Improvements project. Quotes would be solicited as a basis of comparison with traditional trenched construction methods that would be added into the 2010 project scope if the pricing was not competitive. Maps of all three areas have been included for reference. The work would be contracted to be completed by early May, and would be funded by the City’s Water and Sewer Funds.
