Re: TRAC Token Sales
Recommended City Council Action:
Approve ending the sales of TRAC tokens, effective April 6, 2010.
Background:
The City’s TRAC program is scheduled to end operations on Friday, April 30, 2010. It will be
replaced by the Met Council’s TransitLink dial-a-ride program on Monday, May 3, 2010. In
anticipation of the upcoming transition, staff recommends that the City Council approve ending
sales of TRAC tokens effective April 6, 2010. Tokens already purchased will be honored for
payment of rides through April 30, 2010. Cash payment of $2.25 per ride will also be accepted.
Refunds of already purchased tokens will be processed with appropriate proof of purchase (e.g. a
receipt from the City). Patrons purchasing tokens over the last few months have been notified
that refunds will only be processed with proof of receipt.
