1. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Chuck Caturia at 7:05 p.m,
2. The Minutes of September 13th were approved as amended.

3. Proposed Charter Amendment
Discussion centered around the politicizing of the proposed charter amend-
ment relating to the present re-organizing of the ward representation system.
An educational campaign to inform the voters about the issues considered by
the Charter Commission needs to be implemented.
The Charter Commission approved rescinding its motion of the previous meeting
relating to the change in number of wards and ward representation which was
to be presented to the voters in the November General Election, and further,
to provide opportunities for additional study of this issue by the Charter
Commission.

A motion passed to appoint a committee to submit a response to the 1oca1 media
regarding the Charter Commission's action taken to rescind the proposed amend-
ment. Committee members include: Chuck Caturia, Dick Dobrick, and Don
Kramlinger.

Action was def erred regarding wiring of funds, canvassing of ballots, and
Primary Elections until our next meeting.
5. Other Business
A. Chuck Caturia requested that charter commission members Who cannot attend a
meeting, please notify his off ice in advance, so that ve would know
whether or not we wi11 have a quorum.
B. Janice Johnson requested that we return to our 7:30 p.m. starting time.
6. Meeting adjourned at 8:DO p.m.
