TTiURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1984

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Chuck Caturia
at 7:30 p.m.
Members Present: Chuck Caturia, Don Kramlinger, rierle Knutson,
Janice Johnson, Winton Hartman, Jeanne McGree,
Carol Wynn, Earl Be1tz, Dick Dobrick and Todd
Manske.
Members Absent: Sharon Avent and B. H. Wirt.
Chairperson Caturia felt that it was essential that a Vice-
Chairman be appointed, therefore, lie appointed rierle Knutson for that
position. It was moved, seconded and carried that .Merle Knutson be the
Vice-Chairman for the Chaxter Commission,
Three Committees were established. The Members volunteered
and/or were assigned to the following Committees:

The Ward Study and Ward Representation Committee will report to
the Commission at the March meeting.
It was established that Gary Brown, the City Administrator/Clerk,
will contact the League of Municipalities to arrange for a speaker for the
March meeting. The Speaker will present to the Commission their expertise
on the various forms of Municipal Governments, with emphasis placed on issues
currently under study by the Ward Study and Ward Representation Committees.
It was felt that the Commission be provided with a legal opinion
as to the current status of the one-man one-vote concept under the Constitution.
It was moved, seconded, and carried to adjourn the meeting.
