HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/06/62 Hastings, Minn. 6:45 PM 1-6-62 Members Present: Truax, Benjamin, Nordstrom & Kamer. Member Absent: VanCampen. The Zoning Committee met at 6:45 P.M. on August 6,1'62. Moved by Kamer, seconded by lenjamin to deny Henry larte1 Jr., 715 West l'th Street, City to construct a double garage in a location that he now desires. The Zoning Board, however, recommends Henry Bartel Jr. could build a single garage in thia location providing his setback linea agree with the Zoning Ordinance and that he gets a petition from the people on Oak Street South, that is south of his houae, due to the fact that this will be beyond the setback of the houses mentioned. Ayes, all; Nays, none. Moved by Nordstrom seconded by Kamer that the Zoning Board recommend to the City Council that Sec. 5, R-3 Dwelling Districts be amended to read as follows: In lieu of providing a multiple garage, a carport may be constructed for each apartment, or in the alternative and at the sole discretion of the City Council, acting upon the recommendation of the loard of Zoning adequate off- street parking may be provided. That every applicant for a permit to construct any dwelling containing three or more living units shall first present the plans and specifications to the loard of Zoning. The loard of Zoning shall examine said plans and specifications and recommend to the City Council whether the applicant shall supply gareges, carportS or off-street parking. The City Council aha11 thereafter conaider said recommendations and vote on said application. Ayes, ell; Nsys, none. Moved by Nordstrom, seconded by lenjamin that the meeting be adjourned.
