RE: Order Public Hearing: Dissolution of HRA
The City Council established the Hasting Economic Development and Redevelopment
Authority effective January 1, 2009 with the powers of both HRAs and EDAs. Council
also directed that HRA assets and projects were to be transferred and assigned to the
HEDRA before the HRA was dissolved. The transfers and assignments are complete.
Statute provides that an authority can be dissolved by resolution after a public hearing by
the governing body of the city that created the authority.
Action: Order the public hearing for the Council meeting of September 21, 2009.
CITY OF HASTINGS
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is herby given that the Hastings City Council will conduct a Public Hearing on
Monday, September 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Hastings City
Hall, 101 4~` Street East for the purpose of hearing public comment on the proposed
dissolution of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in and for the City of Hastings
(HR.A). The Hastings Economic Development and Redevelopment Authority (HEDRA)
was established by the City Council on January 1, 2009 with the powers of both an HRA
and an Economic Development Authority and all assets, projects and responsibilities of
the HRA have been transferred to the EDRA. All interested persons may appeax at the
hearing and present their views orally or in writing. Questions may be directed to John
