The Feasibility Study will be handed out at the February 20`h Council meeting. Neighborhood meetings were held for this project on February 7th and 8th. A memo describing the project in detail and including comments on the project received at the neighborhood meetings will be included in the Council packet for the March Scn meeting. .,+r ._ ~' - CITY OF NASTINFiS CITY OF HASTINGS Dakota County, Minnesota Resolution No. RESOLUTION RECEIVING FEASIBILITY REPORT AND CALLING HEARING ON CITY PROJECT 2007-1, 5~' STREET AREA IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, pursuant to resolution 8-11-2006 of the City Council dated August 21, 2006, a report has been prepared by the Public Works Director with reference to the following project: 2007-1 ST" STREET AREA IMPROVEMENTS - 5~' Street between Spring Street and State Street, 6~' Street and 7~' Street between Pine Street and State Street, Spring Street and Forest Street between 4~' Street and 6th Street, and Ashland Street between 5`" Street and 6`~' Street and said report was received by the City Council of Hastings, Minnesota. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS AS FOLLOWS; that The City Council will consider the improvements in accordance with the report and assess the abutting property, and assess benefits for all or a portion of the cost of the improvements pursuant to Chapter 429 of the Minnesota Statutes at an estimated cost of the improvements of $4,720,914.00. 2. A public hearing will be held on such improvements at 7:00 PM, Monday, March 5, 2007 at City Hall at 101 E. 4th Street, and the City Clerk shall give mailed and published notice of such hearing and improvements as required by law. The projects are proposed to be assessed on an area basis or frontage basis against properties abutting or tributary to said improvements. The total improvement costs aze estimated to be $4,72Q,914.00 The public hearing before the City Council is scheduled for Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Hastings City Hall, 101 E. 4th St., at 7:00 PM. A reasonable estimate of the impact of the assessment will be available at the hearing. Such persons who desire to be heard with reference to the proposed improvements will be heard at such time and place. Any citizen, prior to the date of the public hearing, may examine the exhibits and documents pertaining to the above improvements at the Hastings City Hall, 101 E. 4th St. by contacting the Acting City Engineer, Nick Egger, at said address or calling them at (651) 480-2334.
