(State Statute 340A.404) Background Attached is a request from Will Mann, Head Trustee of Hastings Eagles Club Aerie 2212, for an amendment to their liquor licenses covering the 2008 Fraternal Order of Eagles State 8 Ball Pool Tournament. The amendment is to allow the sale of liquor at The Knights of Columbus Hall, Highway 61 South, Hastings. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hastings that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to sign this resolution amending the liquor license to allow the sale of liquor at the Knights of Columbus Hall on February 8, 9, and 10, 2008 during the 2008 Fraternal Order of Eagles State 8 Ball Pool Toumament, contingent upon all requirements being met and all fees being paid. The Hastings Eagles are going to host the 2008 Fraternal Order of Eagles State 8 Ball Pool Tournament. We are excited to host this event and bring people in to see what our City is like. Attendance for this three day event will probably be five hundred to eight hundred people. This is a great opportunity for our Eagles Club and other businesses in Hastings. The tournament is held in a different city in Minnesota every year. It is always well run and I know of no trouble stemming from them. This event is scheduled for Feb. 8tl', 9th & 10th. I have enclosed a flyer with all the information such as hours of operation. We have retained the Knights of Columbus hall to hold this event as our Club is too small. We know this creates challenges for us and the City but we feel the positive impact is worth the work. Of course we can't have a successful tournament without your help. We respectfully request an extension of our City Liquor License to cover the Knights of Columbus Hall on Highway 61 South Hastings. I know this is late notice and I apologize. I forgot to notify you until another Trustee with more experience in how the City and businesses operate together reminded me it needed to be done. I hope you can understand and help us.
