Stark, Finance Director RE: Budget Adjustments and transfers DATE: February 12, 2008 Police Department is requesting a $3,000 budget adjustment to the DUI forfeiture budget. The amount will be used to pay offthe lien against a vehicle that was forfeited in a DUI arrest in April of 2007_ The department would use the vehicle to replace the 1997 GMC Sonoma pickup which was obtained in 2001 during a separate forfeiture occurrence. The 1997 GMC Sonoma would be then declared excess property and sold at auction. Funds are available in the DUI forfeiture fund balance. Parks Department is requesting to transfer $4;000 from the general fund Legislative budget contingency line item to the Parks Operating Fund. This $4,000 along with a $4,000 use of fund balance in the Parks Operating Fund will be used to finance the City's share of the Halting Trail Feasibility report. HRA is requesting budget adjustments to fund future redevelopment projects within the City's HR.A district. The board of the HRA approved the use of fiord balance to fiord these projects and requests the City council's approval for the budget adjustments_ The HRA has sufficient fund balance to support these budget adjustment and use of fund balance. $280,000 acquisition, cleanup and remediation $175,000 assessments of downtown public improvement and quiet wne $ 50,000 cost of architect and engineer fees for plans and specs, wall reconstruction on 6~', 7`~ and 8'~ streets and alleys in conjunction with MnDOT reconstruction project on Vermillion Council Action Requested: Approve the above budget adjustments and transfer.
