The Feasibility Study will be handed out at the April 21St Council meeting. Informational meetings with the property owners, and a public informational meeting for the downtown district and east Hastings residents will be held in the next two weeks. A memo describing the project in detail and including comments on the project received at the public informational meeting will be included in the Council packet for the May Sth meeting. h r. Egger, P.E Registration No. 45834 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR 2008 STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS 7:00 PM, Monday, May 5, 2008 Hastings City Hall To Whom It May Concern: Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Hastings, Minnesota will meet in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 101 4th Street E, at 7:00 PM, Monday, May 5, 2008, to consider making of the following described 2008 Street and Utility improvements. PROJECT 2008-2, 2008 D01~/NTOWN STRL'ET &WATERMAIN IMPROVEMENTS This improvement is proposed to include: Reconstruction of streets and utilities on Ramsey Street north of 2"~ Street, on Tyler Street north of 2°~ Street to 1" Street, and on 1" Street from Tyler Street east to Lea Street, Trunk Watennain construction between TH 6l right-of--way and Lea Street, new street lighting on Ramsey and Tyler Streets north of 2"`'Street, and bituminous trail construction between the intersection of Tyler and I" Streets south to the intersection of 3'`~ and Bailly Streets. The projects are proposed to be assessed on an area basis or fi-ontage basis against properties abutting or tributary to said improvements. The areas as specifically described herein are subject to said assessments. The total improvement costs are estimated to be $1,776,660.62 The public hearing before the City Council is scheduled for Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Hastings City Hall, 101 E. 4t11 St., at 7:00 PM. A reasonable estimate of the impact of the assessment will be available at the hearing. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS AS FOLLOWS; that The City Council will consider the improvements in accordance with the report and assess the abutting property, and assess benefits for all or a portion of the cost of the improvements pursuant to Chapter 429 of the Minnesota Statutes at an estimated cost of the improvements of $1,801,337.54. 2. A public hearing will be held on such improvements at 7:00 PM, Monday, May 5, 2008 at City Hall at 101 E. 4th Street, and the City Clerk shall give mailed and published notice of such hearing and improvements as required by law.
