Water Service Repair Assessment Request - 114 6th Street E
Enclosed for Council approval is a request from Lori and Dave LaLonde of 114 6th Street
E for the City to pay the cost to repair their water service line and assess this cost back to
her property. With similar requests for utility service repair, the City Attorney has
prepared an agreement and waiver of assessment appeal for property owners to sign,
spelling out the conditions and terms of the assessment and protecting the City from an
assessment appeal.
COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED
Council is requested to approve the LaLonde's request for the City to fund the sewer
service repair and assess this cost back to their property under the condition that Mr. &
Mrs. LaLonde first enter into an assessment agreement with the City.

To Whom It May Concern:
We have recently learned that our home has a water leak on the pipe coming
into the house, located before the water meter. An excavating company was
called for an estimate.
The purpose for this letter is to request fmancial assistance in the fonn of a 5
year assessment fee to be added onto our escrow account in order to finance
the repair. Estimates range between $1500-5000. At this time we are
unable to pay that amount. We are also aware of the environmental impact
of leaking water, and would like to resolve the issue quickly.
