Subject:
Trail and Tennis Court Maintenance
I have enclosed a memo from Kevin Smith, Parks Superintendent outlining the 2008 trail and tennis court repair
and maintenance program. Kevin worked with John Caven from our engineering department on formalizing
quotes and the bid process.
As Kevin indicated in his memo, we would like to recommend to the City Council to approve Minnesota
Asphalt Maintenance, as the lowest bidder, to conduct our trail maintenance and tennis court repair.
Furthermore, we would like to recommend authorizing alternate #1 to be included with the base bid price for a
total of $35, 134.92

Selection of Contractor for the 2008 Bituminous Project
From:
Date:
Subject:
The 2008 trail and court crack sealing and surface treatment program bidding
process included the bid opening held on May 1, 2008 at 11 :00 AM. After review of
the bids received it is my recommendation that City Council approve the hiring of
Minnesota Asphalt Maintenance to do the work for us this year. This Company was
the lowest bidder based on using the products that we specified. I further
recommend that we hire them to do the base project plus alternate #1. The total
project cost for the Base Bid and Alternate One will be $35,134.92.
