Re: Change Order #5, Public Works Office Expansion
Council is requested to approve the enclosed Change Order #5 for the Public
Works office expansion construction. The total for the 9 change order items is $6,868
and incorporates a number of small items that were overlooked in the original bid
package.
The project budget includes the $1,343,000 original bid for building construction
plus $67,150 for contingencies, for a total of $1,410,150. With Change Order #5, the
contract amount has increased to $1,404,327; still within the project's budget.
The office expansion has received a temporary certificate of occupancy, and
Public Works is expected to move in the week of July 7, with Engineering moving from
City Hall to the new Public Works office near the end of July, depending on the street
and utility improvements construction activity. Site work on the exterior of the project is
getting underway, with a large percentage of the work being completed by Public Works
operators. Site work is expected to be substantially completed late this fall.
