Your agency is being recognized for offering this opportunity to youth in your community and for fulfilling the requirements of hosting a local event in 2008. Please accept this check for $100.00 far your efforts. Thank you for your commitment to grow and develop youth baseball through parks and recreation. The partnership between Major League Baseball and the National Recreation and Park Association continues to be a valuable collaboration. Hundreds of agencies submitted an application for the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run (PHR) Grant Program in the 2008 cycle and 180 communities were awarded cash allocations. Awards were based on severs{ factors including, but not limited to, MLB PHR guidelines and designation of growth for youth baseball in your community. Please be encouraged to apply for the 2009 MLB PHR grant next spring. Be sure to check our website www.nrpa.org for grant announcements and useful toots for your organization. Thank you, ~~ ~I~.~"~" Tom Braswell Vice President, Community Affairs Major League Baseball Jay Richardson Sports & Grants Mgr., National Partnerships National Recreation & Park Association cc: Brian O'Gara, Senior Director Special Events, Major League Baseball CITY OF HASTINGS DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 09- -08 A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING ACCEPTANCE OF AND APPRECIATION OF A GRANT TO THE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the National Recreation & Park Association and Major League Baseball have presented to the City Parks & Recreation Department a grant in the amount of $100.00 for our participation and efforts in the Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run program; and WHEREAS, the City Council is appreciative of the grant and commends the National Recreation & Park Association and Major League Baseball for their civic efforts, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota; 1. That the grant is accepted and acknowledged with gratitude; and 2. That the grant money will be appropriated for youth baseball programs_ 3.
