To: Mayor Hicks and City Council Members
From: Justin Fortney, Associate Planner
Date: September 2, 2008
Subject: Order Public Hearing for September 15, 2008
REQUEST
As part of their on-going designation process, the HPC with a Preservation Grant
through the State Historical Society has had research done on eighteen properties
which are not currently designated.
At :their last meeting, the Heritage Preservation Commission recommended to the City
Council that sixteen of those properties meet the criteria to be designated as locale
Heritage Preservation Sites. See list below. One property was previously;removed from
the study because it did not meet the criteria (200 W 6~' St). Another property (316 W
Stn St) was tabled to confirm some of the research. This property may be
recommended to Council later.
The process includes a public hearing before the City Council. A public hearing is
being requested for the meeting of September 15, 2008. At the proposed meeting on
the 15tH, the City Council would consider designating the properties listed below as local
Heritage Preservation Sites.
