Re: Accept Conservation Initiative Fund Grant for Cal Ruedy Public Works
Facility
Council is requested to accept a grant from the Dakota County Soil and Water
Conservation District's Conservation Initiative Fund in the amount of $7,354.43 as a 50%
match for soil augmentation and construction of an irrigation system on the west side of
the Public Works site to utilize stormwater from the west side ponding and sedimentation
basin to help limit stormwater discharges to the Vermillion River.

RE: Hastings Public Works Expansion Conservation Initiative Fund Award
Dear Mr. Caven:
Congratulations! The Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District (DCSWCD) Board
has approved the City's Conservation Initiative Fund application for the above project. Based
upon an estimated total project cost of $14,708.86.00, the DCSWCD Board approved acost-
share grant award of up to 50% of your actual project cost, not to exceed $7,354.43. To receive
the funding, please sign and return an original of the enclosed Community Conservation Contract
to our office.
Please schedule a meeting with our staff to discuss the technical details ofproject°s design prior
to the completion of the final construction plans and provide 72 hours notice before any
construction activity related to the practice.
After the project has been completed in compliance with the approved plans, submit receipts of
the City's actual project costs for DCSWCD Board's review and approval to request a
reimbursement payment.

efforts to improve water quality and wildlife habitat. We Iook forward to working with you on
