BACKGROUND
Recently, Staff reached a tentative agreement with the bargaining team of the Police Supervisors
Union for the contract year 2009. Staff has learned that the full membership of the Police
Supervisors Union recently approved the terms and conditions of the 20091abor contract. The
following changes would be incorporated in the 20091abor contract:
Wages
Sergeants-Increase base rate by $100.00 plus add 3.00% annual adjustment
Lieutenants-Increase base rate by $200.00 plus add 3.00% annual adjustment.
Field Training Officer
Current contract language includes: "While in the position of Field Training Officer (FTO) the

two (2) hours of compensatory time." The new provision in the 2009 contract will result in a
change to "three" (3) hours of compensatory time, which will be identical to the Police Officers
Labor Contract.
Uniform Allowance
The annual uniform allowance will be adjusted from $700.00 to $750.00 effective January 1,
2009.
Insurance
Effective at the end of the 2009 contract year (December 31, 2009) the City will agree to make
payment of 100% of the single health insurance premium, provided all members who elect the
single health insurance provision agree to enroll in the City's plan. This provision would match
