Commission was held on April ~, 1978, at 7:30 p.m. The p~rpose
of the meeting was to hear a presentation from the firm of Mac-
Donald & Mack.thereby allowing the commission to clarify its
understanding of the s~bmitted proposal MscDonald & Mack had
made fo~ the restoration and preservation of downtown Hastings.
Chairman Florence Peterson opened the meeting with her
interpretation of the proposal. ~r. Stuart MacDonald then add-
ressed the CO~L~ission and offered visual aids in his presentation.
Mr. Micheal Landis of the Minnesota Historical Society was
in attendance and gave assistance to the commission in explaining
that $7500 has been set aside by the Society and will be made
available after the nomination to Historic Sites is complete
and after the Phase I proposal for downtown has been ad~pted.
Following discussion the motion was made by Donald Eddy,
and seconded by GlenGa Schnlrring that the com~uission retain
the firm of MacDonald and Mack of Minneapolis for Phase I of our
restoration-preservation project and that the .~etails of the
contract be negotiated b~, the architectural-selection committee.
The ~otion carried unanimously.
