Hazel informed the Commission that Borons Jewelry is now selling
Spiral Bridge charms which they designed. The Charms are avail-
able in two styles and sell for $9.95 plus tax. There are also
historic sites plaques being sold at the Eddy's Drugstore now.
Florence stated that, although we were originally told that we
had until 1983 to finish up with research for addition to the
Nation Register, she has now been told that Dakota County is
to be finished by April or June of this~year. She plans to
investigate this matter further.
Hazel is going to try and find some file cabinets at the govern-
ment outlet the first week in March.
Don Eddy informed the Commission that there isno money available
for assistence in putting a new roof on the old Sieben Drugstore
building. The new roof would stop further deterioration of the
building but since no assistence money is available it is
questionable as to the fate of the building.
Don has the names of thirteen companies on the east coast that
manufacture period fixtures and will be writing to them for
information and prices. Approximately fo~t~ fixtures are needed
which will be hooked up to the ex~stxng w~r~ng system.
On March 9th the Hastings Womens Club will be shown the
sketches of the restoration designes for the buildings on 2nd
Street. Florence, Glenda, and John Corrigan of the Hastings
Area Chamber of Commerce will be delivering speeches to the
group.
Susan Dredge will be writing to Mack & McDonald about the
neglect of dealing with mechanical problems in their drawings.
John McGree is going to ask Ron Zastrow to speak to the Commission
at the April meeting about his in depth study of Charles Powell
Adams.
