Also Present: John Grossman and Merlin Wilbur
The Minutes of the July 25, 1984 meeting were read and approved with two
corrections.
Under old business Florence Petersen reported that our Comm~ ssion conducted
tours through the old Dakota Co. Courthouse during Rivertown Days and also
that we had our historical display tent on the Courthouse grounds.
Florence Petersen read a letter from the City of Red Wing Heritage Preserva-
tion Cnmm~ ssion inviting members of our Cnmm~ ssion to the first regional
meeting of Southern Minnesota Preservations associates on Sept. 18, 1984.
James S. Abbott submitted his resignation to our Comm~ ssion as he will be
moving from Hastings soon. The Commission thanked Mr. Abbott for serving
on our C,mm~ ssion and expressed appreciation for his efforts.
John Grossman, head of the cities Main Street project, presented a draft of
an Ordinance Revision governing our Historical Preservation C~mmfesion.
This Ordinance Draft was thoroughly discussed and a number of recommendations
made. James Abbott made a motion that John Gross~an have the draft re-typed
with recommendations as discussed and distribute copies to the City Attorney,
City Administrator, City Building Inspector, City Planner and the State
Historical Preservation offices; and request and invite their co~ents to
our Chairman no later than Sept. 1~, 1984. Seconded by Hazel Jacobsen, motion
carried.
Hazel Jacobsen thanked Mr. Grossuan and Mr. Wilbur, City Building Inspector,
for their attendance and guidance this evening.
Pat Gildemeister moved the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Hazel Jacobsen ,
motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 10:05 P.M.
