Council Action Requested:
Accept donation of $200 from the Hastings Rivertown Lions Club to support our ‘Shop With A Cop’ Event
for 2026.
Background Information:
Hastings Rivertown Lions Club is interested in donating $200 to Hastings Police Department to assist with
our Shop With a Cop Event for 2026. This event allows underprivileged youth in our community the
opportunity to shop with an officer and buy Christmas presents for family and loved ones. The money
will go towards dinner for the youth that are participating in the event.

DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION _____________
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING ACCEPTANCE OF AND APPRECIATION OF
A DONATION TO THE HASTINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Hastings Rivertown Lions Club have donated to the Hastings Police
Department $200; and
WHEREAS, this donation will be used to support the ‘Shop With A Cop’ event
hosted by Hastings Police in 2026; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is appreciative of the donation and commends
Hastings Rivertown Lions Club for her civic efforts,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Hastings, Minnesota;
1.That the donation is accepted and acknowledged with gratitude; and
2.That the donation will be appropriated for the Hastings Police Department as
designated; and
3.That the donation will assist the Hastings Police Departments community
outreach efforts.
