Minutes of the Meeting of February 15, 2000
I. Quorum: Thorsen, Simacek, Sovik-Siemens, Schnirring, Warg, Goderstad present; meeting
called to order by Chairman Thorsen.
II. Minutes of January 18, 2000; Motion to approve by Goderstad, second by Schnirring; motion
carried.
III. Review of building permits or design proposals.
No applications at this time

Mr. Warg, representing the HPC on the Advisory Committee working with Wayne
Gannaway, led a discussion of LeDuc house's future and Minnesota Historical Society's
decision making process. The HPC suggested that MHS give the Advisory Committee the
opportunity to determine if there is sufficient city/county support to enter a management
partnership to open LeDuc for historic interpretation/museum purposes.
Motion by Warg that staffwill ask that a Council Committee meet to discuss the LeDuc
House with Gannaway and a representative of the advisory committee; second by Goderstad;
motion carried.
VI. Staff& Committee Reports.
A. Council acted to designate Guardian Angels Church as a Heritage Preservation Site,
but tabled the School until April 3. Staff reviewed recent redevelopment proposals.
B. Interpretive markers, guide and signs ongoing: Sovik-Siemens participating in NPS,
City and Chamber signage project.
