Quorum: Langenfeld, Goderstad, Simacek, g. P · called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. II. Minutes of July 18 and August 3, 2000: Motion by Schnirring, second by Goderstad to approve; motion carried. III. Review of building permits or design proposals. Rodney & Nancy Schwiesow, 312 E. 4th St., Individual designation. Late 1860s, 1 1/2 blocks east of City Hall. Front windows have been replaced with 6 over 6 pane which meet the guidelines. These were underway before formal designation was completed last year, but the owners did provide drawings which were reviewed and approved by staff. They are now replacing windows on the side and rear of house and a door. The Kolbe designs meet the design guidelines. They asked for advice on what kind of door would be appropriate. Commission suggested a four or six panel door would be appropriate. These are available in wood from a variety of sources and can be made locally. A 36" wide door requires removing the lights on one side. This would be the sole handicapped access to the building. Motion by Schnirring, second by Goderstad to approve window designs as submitted. Robert Bezdichek, 200 E. 2nd St. E. Hastings Commercial. Cleaning, tuckpointing and repainting. Not reviewed before this time because cleaning and painting does not require a permit. Tuckpointing and new awnings do require permits. The tuckpointing is nearly complete. The design of building was not changed. The awning will be green, rollup and a replacement of exisitng awning on west front comer. It meets guidelines. Paint colors will be a light beige, similar to original bricks, with green and gray trim. The cleaning was by water wash and hand scraping. Motion by Goderstand, second by Langendfeld to approve tuckpointing and painting; motion carried. Tony Bercns, 211 E. 2na St. E. Hastings Commercial. Permit applied for and approved by staff. Dark red color, rollup, replacement for existing and meets guidelines V. New business Budget for 2000. Motion by Simacek second by Schnirring to approve the draft budget proposed by staff. Request that grant funds by rolled over it'not spent. Motion carried. VI. Staff & Committee Reports. LeDuc Project. The HPC will host a public meeting in September. The organizational meeting will be on September 6, 2000. Comment by downtown business owner. HPC could use a downtown liason. Someone who can pass out design guidelines packets to new businesses. VII. Adjournment. Motion by Schnirring, second by Simacek to adjourn; motion carded.
