MINUTES OF TFIE MEETING OF JANUARY 19, 1999
1. Roll. Commissioners Thorsen, Sovik-Siemens, Simacek, Schnirring, Goderstad, Coutu and
Warg present; Smith absent. Carole Zellie, consultant; Grossman, staff.
2. Minutes. Meeting of December 15, 1998. Motion by Goderstad, second by Warg to approve
as printed; motion carried.
3. Bills. Motion by Schnirring, second by Simacek to approve as printed; motion carried.
Landscape Research $1,500 - 1st monthly payment on CLG grant project
Dakota County Hist. Soc. - $50 - annual membership
Capital - $197 - copier monthly service rate
4. Review of building permits or design proposals.
None pending
5. Unfinished business.
CLG Project. Commissioners worked with Carole Zellie of Landscape Research on selection of
about 16 properties for registration and nomination. Five were eliminated, five selected for early
work. Remainder prioritized. Letters will be sent to owners after registration forms completed.
6. New business.
Elections. Nomination of Thorsen for Chair by white ballot by Coutu, second by Siemens;
motion carded. Nomination of Coutu for Vice Chair by white ballot by Thorsen, second by
Goderstad; motion carried.
7. Staff & Committee Reports.
a. Mr. Darsow's Hastings Archives application for State grant in process. Quotes have been
requested bom three printers for spkal and hardbound versions.
b. Mr. Thorsen, Dr. Smith and Ms. Sovik-Siemens have been reappointed for 3 years. There is
one vacancy.
8. Adjournment. Motion by Coutu, second by Simacek to adjourn; motion carded.
