Minutes of the Meeting of June 15, 1999
1. Present: Commissioners Schnirring, Goderstad, Langenfeld, Simacek, Warg, Smith, Coutu,
Simacek and Thorsen; staff, Grossman; consultant, Zellie.
2. Minutes: May 18, 1999. Motion by Goderstad, second by Langenfeld to approve; motion
carried.
3. Bills. None.
4. Review of building permits or design proposals.
719 Vermillion, ME Church, NationaiRegister. Commission reviewed staff approval of electrical
work. Location of new electrical box on rear side acceptable; on fi:om would not be without
commission review.
5. Unfinished business.
a. Landscape Research: Carole Zellie delivered her CLG project report and seventeen completed
nomination forms for designation of properties for Heritage Preservation Sites. Motion by Smith,
second by Goderstad to send the report and nomination forms to SHPO for their recommendation
to Council, and for their comment on the eligibility of the Depot, Church, School and Becker-Graus
block for National Register. Motion carried 9-0.
b. Schedule meeting for HPC consideration of properties for designation. Motion by Smith,
second by Simacek to send property owners copies of the nomination forms and invite them to a
special HPC meeting on July 14 at 7 p.m. Motion carried, 9-0.
6. Staff & Committee Reports.
a. Interpretive marker project in cooperation with UNRRA continues. Commission discussed
funding two historic markers for trail. Chair will be invited to future meetings.
b. Tour guide reprint. Needs editing and addition of a few sites before printing.
7. Adjournment. Motion by Goderstad and second by Smith to adjourn; motion carded.
