Funding will allow us to proceed with the project using a local contractor and will improve the appearance of the parking lot
which is visible from 3rd Street. This project will also allow the building owners to offer organized, off-street parking to their
tenants which we believe will attract quality renters and also free up street parking around the buildings. This, in turn, is a
benefit to downtown overall.
Overlay, repair and remove flower beds from parking lot (we are not planning to do the full tear out as noted on the bid). In addition there is a
pothole in the lot that needs to be repaired to prepare for the overlay and we were quoted $1500 additional for that work (this is not included
in the bid).

¥ Remove existing asphalt and haul offsite.
¥ Address any base issues if any and add crushed
base rock as needed for a 5”- 6” rock base.
¥ Grade and final grade for desired drainage and
compact base rock to ensure a firm base.
¥ Pave with a 3” lift of SPWEA-340 hot asphalt mix
to existing dimensions.
¥ Roll and finish roll for a compacted asphalt pad and
smooth transitions.
¥ Re-stripe parking lot.
¥ Approximate total area = 3,740sf
Overlay:
¥ Clean existing parking lot to prepare for an overlay.
¥ Apply tac oil to existing asphalt to help bond the
new asphalt.
¥ Pave with a 2” lift of SPWEA-340 hot asphalt mix
over existing asphalt.
¥ Roll and finish roll for a compacted asphalt pad and
smooth transitions.
¥ Restripe parking lot.
¥ Approximate total area = 3,740sf
Remove Flower Bed:
¥ Remove existing flower bed and remove offsite.
¥ Add crushed base rock as needed and compact to
ensure a firm base.
¥ Pave area with a 3” lift of SPWEA-340 hot asphalt.
¥ Roll and finish roll for a compacted asphalt pad and
smooth transitions.
