MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
HELD MAY 20TH, 1966 AT 12:00 NOON AT
GARDNER HOTEL
The followIng pellOOS were prO$ent for the meetIng: Mr. Wekkman, Councilman,
Petellon, Mr. Bauer, Mr. Exley, Mr. Fluegel. Mr. Lea Schumacher of Schumacher Realty
addr..ed the pellons assembled.
Mr. Schumacher advIsed the CommissIon that he Intends to plat an 80 acre tract
lyIng North of HIghway 1155 and presented to the Commlulon a draft of the proposed plattIng
for the area. He also presented to the Commlulon a detailed pia" of a 4.6 acre tract which
he hopes to have zoneó commercial In the Immediate future. He advised that two of the
lots out of the small tract had been sold for commercial purposes. The depth of the
commercial zoning Is 300 feet from Highway 1155. It Is noted that the property Is presently
unzcned. Mr. Schumacher intends to service the lots with a service road. He has already
obtained the approval of the State Highway Department for acc.. to Highway 1155. He
further advised that his present plans call for planning the entire 80 acre tract. Mr.
Erickson stated that the CIty Engineer has viewed the property and Indicated that a drainage
problem might be anticipated. Accordingly, It was the feeling of all concerned, and Mr.
Schumacher agreed, that the plat should be reviewed by the City Engineer. Mr. Schumacher
stated that the principal reason for meeting with the Commission at this time was that he
wishes the Commission to pass on the request for commercial zoning of the 4.6 acre tract.
Since a quorum was lacking, no action was taken.
Affer discussion, the group advised Mr. Schumacher that the Planning Commission would
act tin the request for zoning during the next week. A meeting Is to be called for this
purpofe by the Chairman.
