Gegen, J. Strong, Rev. Fair, B. Engels Mr. Charles Gegen, representing Mr. J. Strong, applied for a Commission hearing regarding Mr. Strong's application for a permit to construct a total of five billboards within the City Limits, A small sign for the Peavey Mill is also involved. Three of these signs will be located between the K. C. Hall and the intersection of Highways 61 and 371. Another one will be locl:ted at 18th & Vermillion and the last one will be located at 15th & Vermillion, All five signs will be approximstely l2 feet high and 25 feet long, After some discussion, an investigating committee consisting of J, Karpen (Chairman), A. Siebrecht, and L. Bauer was appointed to bring to the next commission meeting a report of their findings. Mr. B, Engels of the Northwestern National Bank stated that his bank was proposing to erect an 8 ft. high by 40 ft. long sign on top of the Youth Center Building at 11th & Vermillion. The above committee w1.l1 also investigate this proposed sign at the same time, Rev, ¡ratr of the Haven Homes appeared before the Commission about the possibility of obtaining the use of, or purchase, about 50 to 75 feet of the city property which is just South of the present Haven Home area. A committee of C. i!oleim, Jr, (Chairman), L. Nelson, and 0, Moen was appointed to investigate Revo Patr's request and report dc,'" results at the next meeting" RËvo Fair also requested the City to check the drainage conditions at the Southwestern part of the Haven Homes property to be sure that the possibility of standing water on the Haven Homes area is eliminated. He also wished the City to check as to what kind of arrangements could be msde to nave a fence constructed around the Southwestern psrt of the Haven Homes property to be sure that none of the home patrons could accidently fall into the City ponding area. MT., Fluegel presented his vie~]s in I"egards to Mr. Moore's petition to vacate Russell Street, Consequently, it was moved by Mr, Scleim and seconded by Mr. Karpen that the Commission recommend to the City Council that it pass a resolution relinquishing any right to Russell Street since it was never properly platted. ~le last business before the Co~nission was a general review of the Leonard Bauer proposed plat. It was agre"d tlMt the City Engineer would properly locate Pleasant Drive in the Bauer addition 30 that Mr, Bauer could finish the basic design.
